Manage Workflows autonomously with Fluentis ERP
Fluentis ERP also allows a consultant with technical orientation, but without programming skills, to manage medium-complexity customizations autonomously.
Indeed, it is possible to manage workflows completely independently from the application: the consultant has the ability to define custom workflows directly with the client, managing a series of states and actions to control the transition from one state to another.
These actions can trigger algorithms, execute stored procedures, activate BizLink flows, send confirmation emails, etc.
The workflow is displayed on the interface as a series of interconnected arrows, and it will be possible to navigate between states, manage multiple path options, view additional information, such as the execution log, and the binding actions for state change.
Workflow Management System and BPMN
As powerful as the workflow is, it is limited to the evolution of the process of a single object. For example, it can define the progression through a series of states of an order or an invoice, but each element remains independent, not allowing the creation of a single flow that links multiple elements together to monitor an entire business process.
For this reason, Fluentis has introduced BPMN (Business Process Management and Notation), which – once parameterized – allows automatic management of production processes, delegating non-interactive activities to control algorithms that operate independently of the operator, allowing the highlighting of criticalities and triggering alerts that can be notified and managed in real-time.
The workflow engine allows interaction with the basic algorithms of procedures, modification, and implementation of different versions of each process, allowing information sharing and task delegation from one collaborator to another. The flexibility of Fluentis technology allows a power user to design specific processes based on custom events, making the ERP environment proactive.

Workflow and business process: they are not the same thing!
Often the two terms are used as synonyms, but be careful, the workflow should not be confused with the business process. The workflow represents a simple set of states of a document and actions that can be executed between a state change.
It is therefore important, before talking about a business process, to define the state sequences and the corresponding algorithms to be executed at the state change.
